Beach Trip

We went to Panama City last weekend for a last minute beach trip. We knew it was not going to be the most relaxing trip with a colicky infant and a very energetic 4 year old but we really wanted to go before Julia started school. It turned out to be very fun (and exhausting, of course) and Alex cried less and slept more than he does at home. Go figure! We spent as much time as possible at the beach and pool. We went out to eat and to Alvin's Island one night to get Julia an airbrushed t-shirt (she picked out a beautiful unicorn shirt) and then finished with a trip to Gulf World on the way home. It was neat, but very hot, but both kids tolerated it very well. Julia especially loved the dolphin show. She was pretty bored after a couple of hours and we headed home. It was hard work but we were proud of ourselves for making it through our first family vacation.

We're gonna try this blogging thing

We decided we would try blogging. Since Alex was born and our family is now complete, and the fact that we're pretty bad at keeping in touch, sending pictures, etc, we would try this. It probably won't be a daily thing or be very detailed, but at least we can post some pictures of the kids for you all to see.

We just went on our first trip with all four of us. We visited Wendy's family and some friends in Athens. We spent the first two nights with Nick, Angie, Rachel and Bradley and the next two with Gary and Vicky. We crammed a lot into 5 days, and the kids handled all the time in the car like champs! On the last day, we got to visit Wendy's Gramma. She was sooo excited to see Julia and meet Alex for the first time. We made it to Athens two separate times and saw Uncle Kevin and Anna, our friend Cindi and her kids, Maggie (one of Julia's best friends) and Bobby, and our friends Stephen and Angie, and went to Chuck E. Chesse with Angie and her kids. Saturday was spent at Bradley's 2nd birthday party. They had a few pools set up and a sprinkler for the kids to run through (Juju especially loved that). We all had so much fun with our family and friends.

Oh yeah, I drove to Tucker to take an appraiser's qualifying test (which I passed!) and Wendy had an oncologist appointment in Athens, too.
