Just watchin' some TV together

Giving baby bro some love

Bearcat pride! Julia got her face painted at school for Bearcat
spirit day. She was very proud and they stayed
on her face for a few days!

Alex with one of his potential girlfriends, Madison, our friend's
Chris and Lisa's baby. She was 2 weeks old in this
picture. She makes him look like a GIANT!

Grammy working her magic!!!

"Maybe if I act like a baby I'll get some attention, cuz I just
don't get any!"

GO BRAVES! And look at that big ol' belly!

Okay, I know it's been forever since we've done a post. Everything is going fine, just crazy busy. Alex is doing much better now on his Zantac and we have changed pediatricians to someone we're much happier with! I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures and put captures under them (guess you'll see that before you read this). We're going to visit Athens next weekend so there will be plenty to post then!

ABCs and 123s

Julia surprised me and Wendy yesterday. She asked for a piece of paper and a pen. She does this pretty often and draws pictures and writes her name and stuff like that. So she was writing for a while and said, "Hey Mommy, look at this." She showed the paper to Wendy and she had written her numbers 1-10! This is not something that we have worked on with her much (I guess we should). We were very surprised and impressed, of course. We asked if she learned that in school and she said no. So we don't know if that's true or not, but either way, we thought it was pretty cool. So then we decided to see if she could write her ABCs, which she proceeded to do. She missed a few letters, but still, pretty good. Then she said she learned that by looking at the letters on the wall at school. Anyway, I took a picture of it. She also wrote her name, which she has gotten pretty good at.

If you can't tell, the first line is her numbers and the second and third line are her ABCs. (She missed a couple letters between E and L)

Busy Saturday

Roller Girl

Having fun!

Julia riding her scooter. They allow these in the rink.

A little spill, but she was fine.

Matt about to bust it!

Julia holding one of the bulldog babies

Alex with his buddy Aunt Missy

A halftime break

Julia loved Jane's shot glass. Don't worry, there's
no liquor in it!

Alex chillin' and watching the game with
Aunt Missy and Uncle Glenn

Saturday, Matt and I took Julia roller skating while Grammy stayed with Alex. The skating rink is right down the street and it is something fun to do indoors since it is still so stinking hot outside. Julia had been one time to a friend's birthday party and was very excited to go again. Matt bravely decided to skate with her and did a pretty good job. Julia had a blast!

After skating, we went to Jane's house for the UGA game. Jane made yummy Mexican food. Alex hung out with Aunt Missy most of the time and even fell asleep on her. Julia and Dylan colored with markers and played with toys. The Dawgs won again so it was another great day all around!

Chef Julia

The days just seem to get shorter and shorter! Julia is doing great at school, but we're all still trying to adjust to the early mornings and crazy afternoons. Julia will not take a nap at school during naptime, and by 4 or 5 in the afternoon, she's just miserable! It makes for some fun evenings. Between that, working, dinner, etc. it seems like the day is over before it began! Anyway, they have been discussing a different career each day at school. One day they talked about policemen, and the teacher asked, "What do policemen do?" Instead of saying, "they get bad guys" or "they protect us", Julia said, "They give you tickets!" That's because of the unfortunate incident of her being in the car when I got a ticket on the way to Athens! I thought that was pretty funny. Anyway, last Friday they talked about chefs and made chef's hats and even made cookies and ate them. She brought home her chef's hat and we decided to let her be a chef again and make a home made pizza. She had fun and of course the pizza was delicious (not really).

Alex is doing better these days! He had the barium swallow, which wasn't that bad, and it showed that everything was normal. We were glad there were no blockages or anything serious but we still think he has acid reflux. The Zantac seems to be helping- he is not crying nearly as much and is actually taking naps during the day! He is still not on any kind of schedule and still wakes up in the middle of the night but we're working on it. We're just thrilled that he is finally getting some relief.

Nana and Pop's Visit

Nana has the magic touch!

Pop and Alex

Grammy, Pa, Juju and Alex before dinner

Pop and Juju making silly (horrid?) faces. Sorry, Dad,
I couldn't resist!

Nana and Baby Fuzzhead

Last weekend, Nana and Pop came to visit! We hadn't seen them in a couple of months and it was great to see them! They came Saturday and left Monday. We had so much fun just talking and hanging out. Julia got a lot of attention from them, which she loved. They were extra excited to see Alex since he changes so much so quickly. Unfortunately, there is not a lot to do here and going outside is really not an option because it is so hot and buggy. So we pretty much just stayed in the house. But we enjoyed every minute of it. They brought some delicious ribs and a Boston butt so Pop cooked that for dinner Sunday night. Grammy and Pa came over that night, too, and Grammy brought one of her delicious key lime pies and ice cream sandwich cake which was awesome! The whole meal was wonderful and a good time was had by all. It was a great weekend and we were very sad to see Nana and Pop leave Monday. It is very special to me to see any of my family since they live so far away. Hopefully we will go visit them soon. We love you, Nana and Pop! Thanks for visiting!!!

GO DAWGS!!!

Juju and cousin Dylan

Juju decorated Alex with some of Jane's
Beanie Babies. He didn't mind.

Jane and Alex watching the game

One of my favorite pics of Alex ever. Thanks Jane!!!

Dylan, Juju and Sugar. Sugar's precious!

It's college football season again! The first UGA football game was Saturday against Georgia Southern. Most of Matt's family are HUGE UGA fans and his aunt Jane usually has a get together at her house to watch the game. We all went as well as Matt's uncle Glenn, Aunt Missy and cousin Dylan. Of course, Jane also has some precious bulldogs who were there too. The food was very yummy and we had a great time. Jane took some great pictures, some of which I stole to put on here. The Dawgs won 45-21 (I think) so it was a good day all around! When we got home, Nana and Pop came to visit...more about that later!

Julia's First Haircut

These aren't in the right order because
I'm dumb, but this was towards the end
of the cut.

After the cut, outside the salon

After the cut at home

Before we walked in the salon

Julia wanted to take a picture of
me while we were
waiting.

Right at the beginning of the cut

What a little doll! She's so pretty.

Okay, I know that sounds weird because she is 4 years old. But it is true, Julia has never had a real haircut! I have always just trimmed the back. But recently it has started getting really scraggly, especially in the front, and she won't sit still for me to trim it anymore. We're also growing her bangs out which complicates it for me. So I decided we should get it cut. I talked about it with her a lot before I made the appointment to make sure she was okay with it, and she was surprisingly excited right from the beginning. When we got to the salon, we watched the girl who was going to cut Julia's (she also cuts mine) cut a man's hair and talked about how still he was sitting and so forth. Well, Julia jumped right on into the chair and went for it! She never got upset or nervous or anything and after the first snip she said she thought it looked better! It was very cute, and I think her hair looks awesome! We will probably let it grow back out now but it is healthy and off to a good start. Matt really liked it but it is a little strange because she looks so grown up. It's hard to accept your baby growing up. But I guess that's life! She's our special, sweet girl and we're so proud of her.
